Focusing on color and light.
Focusing on color and light, Barbara discusses optical mixing of layered color and how to truly see and identify color, especially subtle color. The effects of light on color, composition, and perception, as well as use of different types of light are explored. Painting from still life and or photographs each student receives individual attention and critiques. Demonstrations, lectures and a slide show are designed to give students tools to achieve a great start or to complete a project with intense color and dramatic light.

Personal Mentoring: You don’t have to wait for a workshop.
Through private mentoring sessions, I can help you take specific steps to accelerate your skill level and personal vision. Wouldn’t it be amazing to advance your knowledge and skill level tailored for your specific need or current art project? I am there for you. You will have access to my 20 years of art expertise at your disposal. Mentoring sessions can be done in person via internet or plein aire or public location (library, park, workplace group session) etc. You can choose do meet with me monthly, bi-monthly depending on your schedule.
Master Class /Next Level Workshops
The Business of Art
In this class I will share the tools and necessary resources for marketing, branding, and social media presence that is needed to be current and relevant in the art world today.
I will discuss the art competition and juried show entry, image preparation and editing programs for beginners to intermediate artist. Other class discussions include copyright registration of artwork, watermark and online protection of original artwork. We will also discuss framing and shipping options of original artwork and more. Each class representative can submit specific topics for discussion prior to lecture to ensure the needs of class interest are met.
